SKU: BHOD_25TB

If you look at the Bodhi tree, you will experience a high, bright and fine energy. Like you have just been awakened. This is similar to what you will experience with a cup of Bodh Second Flush Black Tea, which means Awakening for the right reasons. After a month of dormancy post the first flush, the second flush arrives. The tea has a darker color and strong flavour in contrast to first flush teas. Darjeeling second flush is so unique because it clearly brings the rare muscatel flavour Darjeeling is known for, which is a combination of its weather and topography.

    Great Tea

This is a very good tea. I've been experimenting with different black teas and this one is great. It's a very smooth, nice tea. Not too earthy or sweet, just the perfect black tea.

very uncharacteristic second flush Darjeeling, taste almost like the first flush

For those who likes the second flush Darjeeling black tea, it is the muscatel aroma that set it apart from any other tea in the world. I like both first flush which has its distinct herbal flavor and the 2nd flush. The 2nd flush I received from Teamonk somehow tastes more as the first flush and the muscatel aroma is very weak. Not a bad tea on its own, actually quite interesting, just very uncharacteristic. It almost looks and tastes like two types of tea mixed together, which could be what I received. Also I bought it in Nov 2020, and the tea was packaged in Nov 2019, so it is the crop from a year ago.

Teabag does not seem to be compostable ??

Flavor was fine. I wish the string was a bit longer and that the teabag was compostable.

    Nylon tea bags

Excellent tea! Only gets 4 stars though because the company uses nylon tea bags which at brewing temperatures leaks microplastics into your tea. But no worries, just cut open the tea bag, pour contents into a strainer and youre good!
