Know your green tea
Green tea has extraordinarily gained popularity amongst the masses due to its benefit of helping take care of the body weight. One sip of green teas helps one understand what ‘going green’ really means. Green tea is known for enhancing metabolism. Not only it has powerful antioxidants, it also helps clear your system and improve your immunity.
This tea is known to help you lose weight as well, a favourite of dieticians. The grace of greens extends to body and mind without bias. There is often a dilemma in deciding whether the superior taste and subtle flavour of the green teas outweighs the health benefits due to its rich antioxidants content.
Our green tea processing:
For green tea, the tea leaves are harvested from the Camellia sinensis plant and are then quickly heated—by pan firing or steaming—and dried to prevent too much oxidation from occurring that would turn the green leaves brown and alter their fresh-picked flavour.
Brewed green tea is typically green, yellow or light brown in colour, and its flavour profile can range from grass-like and toasted (pan fired) to vegetal, sweet and seaweed-like (steamed). If brewed correctly, most green tea should be quite light in colour and only mildly astringent.
Different flavour profiles of green teas depend on where and how they are grown, but more importantly on their processing—pan fired in China and steamed in Japan. Other countries producing green tea typically take cues from China or Japan and adopt one of these country’s tea production styles.
